[PHOTO] Fema the Federal Emergency Management Agency was in Lakewood today as part of a campaign to encourage area residents to purchase flood insurance.

The small group who set up a information booth in the Lakewood Lowes spoke with Lakewoodlocal and explained that the amount Fema gives is about $31,000 a far cry from what one would need if he would have significant damage to a $250,000 home. They urged all to get flood insurance even if they live far from the Ocean,as flooding can be caused from water main ruptures and a severe storm.

A member of the team said ?it?s not a matter of if but when the next disaster will hit?.

The Team has been in the area aiding with the recovery from hurricane Sandy and educating area residents on disaster preparedness.
